Professional packer with moving boxes

Moving across town. across the street, or across our USA, packing is a huge part of any move.

You will have a successful move if all items arrive safely.

It is in the mover’s best interest to use the proper materials. The thickness of the cardboard boxes is designed to hold a particular weight. If you choose to provide your own boxes you may be putting items at risk for damage.

Packing to move means you must touch every item in your home or office.

Each item requires a decision. Should you take it with you, donate it or, leave it behind? Now is the time to choose!

Ok, now that you have decide what is going with you now you must determine the best way to protect the item for moving.

Professional packing requires skill and techniques that have been proven for safety.

Moving boxes are designed to hold specific weights. Exceeding the weight of the box may cause the box to split or may be too heavy for a mover to lift.

  • Small boxes are designed for heavy weight such as books and files.
  • Medium boxes are designed for medium weight such as linens or towels.
  • Large boxes are designed for larger light weighted items such as stuffed animals.
  • Dish boxes are designed for dishes of course and there are specific ways to pack dishes for safe moving.
  • Picture boxes are designed to protect the glass on your mirrors or art.
  • Mattress boxes are sized for each individual mattress and box springs.

Fragile items need special attention such as custom built crates. This is a requirement for large breakables such as glass. A professional mover will refuse to move an uncrated fragile item. It is just too great of a  risk for your  valuable belongings.

It is in the movers best interest of their company to relocate your belongings safely. Proven techniques are taught to professional packers from years of experience to make your move as stress free as possible.

Moving companies want you to have a damage free move. The reputation of the company depends on the success of the move. Some movers will not  insure your belongings if you choose to pack yourself.

Baby Grand Piano Teacher and Student

Yes, we move pianos and organs, verticals and horizontal pianos.

Piano and organ moving requires experience and skill. Not all movers will accept the move if a piano or organ is involved. We move all types of pianos, organs, and all sizes of homes.

We understand that a piano or organ may have been inherited and is a precious part of your home.

Yes, we will move your piano or organ within the same house or business for a flat fee, not hourly!

We will also just move your piano or organ as a single item, or with your household belongings.

The two different categories of pianos are horizontal and vertical.

Vertical pianos are; Spinet, Console, Studio and Upright, due to their height and string position. ranging is size  from thirty six to sixty  inches.

Horizontal pianos are six basic types: Petite Grand, Baby Grand, Medium GrandParlor Grand, Semi concert or Ballroom and Concert Grand. They are called horizontal pianos because of their length and the placement of their strings. Horizontal pianos range in size from four to nine feet.

There are three types of organs: Pipe Organ, Electric Organ, and Concert Organ. We exercise equal care and concern for all musical instruments.

We have been moving pianos for over thirty five years, up stairs down stairs or from house to house or room to room.

Protecting the piano keys and the exterior with additional protective padding is especially important. Piano moving requires several strong people and often special equipment such as dollies to move even a small piano.

Pianos will always need tuned after a move.

If you are concerned about moving your piano, give us a call. Wayne and Family Moving will provide you with a free estimate, references and the assurance of a safe move from one piano to your entire home.
